Prepare UTP Cable Using RJ-45 Connector

1. Measure and cut enough UTP cable. Make sure you cut a little more than the amount of the actual length required. (2 inches from the end of the cable jacket.)

2. Cut and tear jacket using a "stripper". Make sure you do not damage the cable.


3. Untangled knot in the cable and straighten your fingers. Cut the cable end so all the same.



4. Based on the chart below, arrange the position of each color wire will be inserted into the RJ-45 connector.To make straight cable,both end should have same type and to get cross cable, both ends should be different.

5. Based on a diagram above, insert the cable into the RJ-45. Hold the "RJ-45 Connector" to clip them face down and not facing you. Slowly enter into the cable openings. Ordering cable wiring must be in accordance with the prescribed rules (Type A or Type B).


6. Make sure that the distance between the end of the cropped wire and the outer jacket is about 1/2 inch.
so that the cable is fitted firmly with RJ 45 Connector.


7. Check each wire color code. Make sure it is in the correct order according to the connection type  (Type A or Type B).


8. Use the crimping tool to secure the cable to the RJ-45 connector. Make sure the cable connector with tight binding and no sway. Tighten up the cable using the Crimping Tool. Refer the diagram below for guide. Press the Crimping Tool to pierce the cable connection in the connector.


9. Check the cables on both sides that have been clipped (Crimp). Make sure it is in a neat and safe to use.


10.To test the connectivity of the newly installed cable, we can use typical Cable Tester. Plug one end of the cable (RJ-45) jack on the Master Unit Network Cable Tester and the other end to the Remote Terminator.
